On April 4th, I turned 22 in Australia. Then, at 1:30 in the afternoon, I turned 22 again...Canadian time!
After waking up, I hopped into the shower and little did I know that Emily would start scurrying around to make me a chocolate pudding cake for our breakfast. She greeted me outside the bathroom with a whisk covered in yummy chocolately goodness. Right here I knew it was going to be a good day.

After breakfast I was pleasantly surprised by a skype call on Emily's computer from my mom and dad (who were on various phones trying to hear due to the internet being down), Mike, Adam, Melanie, Aunt Anne & Uncle Dave, Aunt Joan & Uncle Steve, Grandma Caldwell, and Aunt Sue & Uncle Lee! Sarah and Ashley tried to make it too but were at supper and couldn't make it back in time. Am I forgetting anybody? haha It was very overwhelming but exciting! Thank you everybody for the awesome surprise! It definitely made me feel very close to home hearing all of those familiar voices!
After this I talked some more with Adam and then called mom and dad at home who I wasn’t able to talk to that clearly since they were on other people’s phone lines who were connected to skype. Two weeks until they and Mike visit!
Then while having a skype chat with Sarah, Emily rushed into my room saying to get the door! When I walked out I saw a delivery guy holding a bouquet of flowers!

So after a full morning of chocolate cake & ice cream, skype chats and surprises, Emily and I spent much of the afternoon trying to plan our birthday dinner outfits. And since we were already at it, decided to have a mini photoshoot for some fun!

| Thanks for a fun day Em! |
For dinner, Emily, Steve & I headed into the city in search of a good Italian restaurant. We decided on a unique Adelaide cafe called Scoozi. The meal was delicious!! I had olive tapenade bruschetta to start, the ravioli dish as my main, with the house chardonnay wine to drink! Afterwards, we went for a walk on the search of dessert, and in the theme of Italian, I decided that a mix of lemon and raspberry gelato would be a good way to finish the day!
Thanks again to everyone and for all of the great birthday wishes!!!
Love Alison
